ABOUT US
The Department of Turkish Language and Literature was established in 2007. It has been offering undergraduate studies since 2008 and graduate studies including evening classes since 2009. Our department aims to train experts with basic education in their field and prepare them for graduate education. It also aims to make students have knowledge and skills in the level that they can conduct comparative researches with the Turkish dialects and Turkish literature in the Turkish world.
The department has a four-year undergraduate program. The graduate program is carried out in coordination with Nevsehir Haci Bektaş Veli University Institute of Social Sciences with the contributions of the faculty members of the department. Our department has been qualified to open a PhD program since 2012 and started to admit PhD students in 2012-2013 academic year. The department has 2 professors, 1 associate professor, 5 assistant professors, 1 lecturer, 5 doctoral research assistants and 6 research assistants.
Our department produced its first graduates at the end of 2011-2012 academic year. Our graduated students are trained to be able to teach in public schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education or in private schools; be an expert in archives in the Ministry of Culture, in the Turkish Language Association and work in various units of TRT.
